WWE 13 Wii review

WWe 13 wii
Wrestling has been and still is a big thing in my house. From my cousin walking around the house spouting “do u smell what the rock is cooking” to my mom screaming at the tele “John Cena don’t take that”. I may not watch the show that much these days but I’m still a fan and the WWE games are a delight every year as I kick my friends’ candy asses from one side of the screen to the other.
Most years I usually get only WWE for Xbox but this year I decided to get it for Wii as well. Firstly I will not be making references to the HD versions of the games because I am yet to play it so anything stated here is only related to my Wii experience *I will do an HD review at a later date.

When WWE 13 first hit shelves I was originally going to review it for the Xbox 360, but ended up changing my mind, I mean I have a Wii and a classic controller so what could go wrong right? Well what I’ve learned is when dealing with video game ports they more often than not tend to go wrong and boy did they go wrong with WWE 13 for the Wii. From time to time the game got graphical hick ups like; characters missing from cut scenes and getting stock in geometry, but the worst was the constant ever looming slowdowns when the action got too much for the platform to handle.  The audio isn’t any better and at times became unbearable. Sometimes it clips and pulls you out of the experience other times it simple stuff like the crowd sounding like a few blokes in a room shouting.

WWE 13 has some pretty decent character models and I say that excluding the fact that they look like plastic action figure versions of themselves. The crowd is what I’d call a poor excuse for polygons, but who watches the crowd much right? The thing is I don’t much care for the best graphics but this is 12 (I wrote the review last year) and that is just plain lazy on THQ’s (RIP) part. They could have done what EA does with FIFA and outsource proper development for the Wii version. I say this because even though I can stand the visuals I can’t stand the frequent drop in frame rate, random disappearance of fighters, or even getting stuck in geometry during fights. These things happen way more than they should, which just screams to me unfinished

OK now that I got all the bad stuff out of the way time to fill you in on why even with all the games short coming I stuck it out to the end. Firstly I’m a 90′ kid so when I saw the attitude era I admittedly got a little goose bumps like a prom night chick as her date arrives. The attitude era is all here in full effect. Filled with greats like stone cold, the rock, mankind and a lot more. It’s all here for you to enjoy.

Other than the mechanical flaws almost everything you would expect from a WWE game is here. From singles, doubles, TLC, universe mode, offline multiplayer and of course the creation suite, which works perfect, well most of it at least.

The attitude era is also in here and is amazing. It offers a front row ride to all the biggest moments in the attitude era, boy oh boy I I never had so much fun delivering stunners before.
WWE 13 is by far one of the worst Wii titles out there and if u have yet to play titles like Xenoblade or the Mario galaxy series. Get those instead, but if you’re like me a fan, and I mean a diehard fan that only owns a Wii then sure why not waste a few credits on a stunner or two.
