Gentleman on the loo

Ever since ancient times men have had a fixation with great big chairs. It may be a primal need to prove their dominance as “men” (cave man grunt). In the early times the man would sit at the head of his table and surveyed his domain. This was was his kingdom that he had earned and wished to enjoy. The more power the man had the bigger and more glorious his chair, and the biggest of them all was the throne that a king or lord sat on.

Many Years have passed since those times of old, and we don’t have much kings with actual thrones anymore, and quite frankly for those places in the world where these customs still exist, we the common folk more often than not don’t know much about it to care. This however is not to say that the romance between a man and his throne is over. All it means is that men have found new ways to sit on their one true love (sorry girlfriends & wives) .

The modern man has found really interesting ways to meet with “the precious”. Some men have that one chair in their study or living room, you know those that recline and hold beer in the arm rest.(so beautiful Crying face) Some have those big leather mini sofa chairs that scream “men!” (Think fairy tail). We men are crafty but simple, this is the reason we don’t really need much to exist. A man can find a throne on a tree stomp if he wants to. The throne itself is symbolic only in name and is a seat a man can sit on alone without the need to interact with other individuals, it is a place a man feels safe, it is where he will cry and bare all his worries. Most great men like Henry Miller had their best breakthroughs on their own personal throne His being a Loo, lavatory, toilet What ever you call it. He said it offered the perfect solitude for “uninterrupted reading”. Miller went on to indorse the Necessary House and recommend specific ones for individual authors. To enjoy Rabelais, he advised a plain country toilet, “a little outhouse in the corn patch, with a crescent sliver of light coming through the door”. Better still, he said, take a friend along, to sit with you for half an hour of minor bliss.

She is warm and comfortable, I can sit on her however I feel like and she doesn’t care about what I wear when I come for a visit. I know of many men like me who have found their thrones on the loo, some make personal calls on theirs and call it the office while others sit on the throne to read the morning paper (yeah it still exist). Mine is where I do my best thinking and sometimes writing (I’m actually writing on the throne atm). Even gamers have embraced the loo throne as one of the most comfortable thrones possible, and when you think about today’s busy schedules some of us live with, when are we going to find a better time to get our game on.  Some of you may start saying “oh gross what about the germs?” to that my answers is just having proper Hygiene practices and invest in sanitizing wipes. If you would like to take a deeper look on if the loo is healthy for you and your reading/gaming I recommend the article from the guardian by Ian Sample: Is reading on the loo bad for you?. After you’re finished with that enjoy these images.

The throne can be a sacred place for men, and women alike. We men lay no claim over the throne as anyone can have a throne if they so desire. The throne can be wherever you usually sit that is most comfortable for you to take off that extra load.
If you have a throne feel free to share details about your romance us below.

  1. Look, a gamer has to make a dump here and there. So, if those take longer then usual you don’t go: “Hey, let’s stare at a wall till everything dropped.”. Nah, you take out your tablet or something to game. And if you like to read, then you read. Thank you handhelds for being portable.

(Also, this makes the joke possible that when I play shitty games I actually do SHIT.)
