Retro Play Show Series 2 Concludes with “Super Castlevania IV!”

This second series of The Retro Play Show has been a good one, taking us through 30 live-streamed episodes of retro goodness. Titles covered this go-around have come from the NES, Genesis, 32X, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, PlayStation, and even the Atari Jaguar, and all of them have made for interesting streams. Each episode has gotten good feedback during the stream itself, on YouTube, or over Twitter, and that has gone a long way in keeping me interesting in continuing it. But, like all other good things, this too must come to an end…At least for 2014!

Because of my love for this game growing up, I felt it would make for a proper send-off to do a two-part special on Super Castlevania IV for the Super Nintendo.

For those not familiar with the game, it is basically an enhanced reimagining of the original NES classic, spanning across far more levels and featuring gameplay mechanics that wouldn’t have been dreamed of back in 1986. This game also features an amazing sound-track with great remixes and original tunes featured in most games in the series that followed.

So, sit back, relax, and enjoy this two-part special and please share with me your ideas for games you’d like to see covered in 2015!
