Wonderful NES to PCE/TG Conversions!
Even if you only know a couple things about me, you likely know by now that I am a big fan of classic gaming! So, you can imagine my pleasant surprise the other day when I stumbled upon a website dedicated to taking awesome classic NES games and recoding and redesigning them so that they will run on a TurboGrafx-16. The site and its projects, referred to as NES2PCE, has been operating for quite some time and has quite a few games under its belt:
- Castlevania
- Contra
- Ducktales 2
- Robo Warrior
- Super Mario Bros.
- Dragon Warrior
- Mega Man
- Mega Man 2
I’ve also dug around online and found a few other projects that aren’t listed on their website, so a good search online may turn up a few additional games. In most cases, the games are very faithful recreations, with the main difference being an enhanced color palette and different (better) sound card usage.
