Ubisoft giving away free game with The Witcher 3

Witcher 3 Uplay

You may think that everyone and there granddad are already playing The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, that open world, beautiful fantasy RPG that is set in a world of magic, dragons and lots of mature content. However that notion is actually incorrect, because some of us (especially those of us who play on PC) after reading our First Impression of the game have decided to hold off on getting the game until some patches are released.

For those of you that have not gotten the game just yet and are tired of waiting, you are probably trying to decide who you should buy it from; Steam, Origin, GOG, Uplay….. etc, and these distributors know this so some of them are trying to spice up the options you have available to you should you decide to buy the game from them. Most recent is Ubisoft and their Uplay store. They currently have the game listed at $59.99 for the Standard Edition, $79.99 for the game + expansion pass and a trilogy bundle which includes all 3 Witcher games for $69.99. These prices are all standard so Uplay store are adding a few extras to each of these purchases. Most notable is the choice to choose one of 4 predetermined Uplay games.

In the US region we have a choice among:

  • Assassins Creed IV: Black flag
  • Assassins Creed Rogue
  • Watch dogs
  • Far Cry 3

While in the EU the choices are:

  • Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
  • Tom Clancy Splinter cell Blacklist
  • Might and magic X Legacy
  • Might and Magic Heroes IV: Shades of Darkness
  • Anno 2070

So is Uplay offering something that you think makes it worth buying The Witcher 3 from Uplay, or does it not matter to you. Share you opinion in the comment section below.

  1. Dang EU gets the shaft again. US gets some decent games we get crap that’s been on sale for less than £5 >.< Rogue would have been an instant sale for me, but none of the EU games (with exception of Black Flag) have that sort of pulling power

    1. really you’d put up with Uplay store for Rogue? I’ll pass. I have black flag, watch dogs and had far cry 3. Rogue is the only one i don’t have but I wouldn’t get it o Uplay for that game. were it Unity then I’d say ok seems worth it

      1. lol no don’t touch unity, you’ll cry. That game was so bad Ubisoft had to bribe fans by throwing free DLC and games at them/

As for UPlay, i’ve only had minor issues with it over the years. Nothing to cry over, so hell yeah i’d keep using it. Still do use it, fro ANNO 2070
