Gakusen Toshi Asterisk – A-1 picture’s mediocre show of Fall 2015?

Ahhh A-1 pictures, home to some of the greatest anime out there: Sword Art Online, Black Butler, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute, and many more. Gakusen Toshi Asterisk will probably not fall under that category. This show just reminds me of another anime that aired about a year ago called Black Bullet as they both take place in the post-apocalyptic setting. Black Bullet also isn’t that great a show and the only reason you would watch it if you haven’t is for the lolicons or for the amazing openings and ending.

Oh shoot! I totally got side-tracked talking about Black Bullet. Alright, let me explain why I don’t think Asterisk Wars will not do well.

After viewing the trailer, I realized that there was only one male I saw in the whole video and an idea suddenly popped into my head: Harem. Now I’m not say harems are bad, I just think that harems should either be the focus of the show or it shouldn’t be in anime at all. Sword Art Online and Code Geass contain harems and what would happen if we took that away? They would be way more entertaining as the main purpose of the shows would have a brighter spotlight.

The only props I can give the show, or at least the trailer is that it’s beautiful, which is actually props to A-1 Pictures… yeah. I can’t really criticize the show based off the trailer, so we’ll just have to wait and see!

Also sorry for not posting for the past week, I have been catching up on the One Piece manga, started reading Black Butler, and finished watching Kokoro Connect. Which are investments for future articles! So don’t fret! I’ve lots of stuff to write about!
