The Frozen Palace of “Oceanhorn!”

Finally, after a lot of running around to find magical spells and other things we needed, we’ve finally gained access to the Frozen Palace – the former royal dwelling of the rulers of the Gillfolk. It’s here, though, that the Emblem of Ocean is said to be held, and thus we have no choice but to make our way through this frozen fortress.

The dungeon actually isn’t all that bad, and while there are a few tricky areas here, I don’t really have that much of an issue getting through it. The prize here, beyond the Emblem, is the Trencher Boots – a special upgrade that allows us to jump over certain gaps and thus reach places we previously were unable to. This will be the cause for some exploration that happens in Episodes VII and VIII. For now, though, it will get us access to the throne room of King Angler.

The king himself turns out to be the boss of this place, but the fight isn’t really too terribly difficult. He goes down, we free the Princess from her thousand-year slumber, and we set the Gillfolk on the path to recovery.

Now, with the Trencher Boots in hand, next time we will set off to do some exploration and gather some items we previously were unable to get!
