“Sonic Chaos” – An 8-bit Sonic Blast :)

Sonic the Hedgehog Chaos (released as Sonic & Tails in Japan) continues Sonic’s 8-bit adventures on the Game Gear and Sega Master System. Released in 1993, the game has a nice soundtrack and colorful graphics, and the gameplay feels a bit less sluggish compared to its predecessors. The game, however, feels short, although from what I read about it, playing as Tails makes it much faster because you don’t need the chaos emeralds at all.

This is one of those games that I recall playing way back when it was new and I was in elementary school, but I never owned it and certainly never beat it. I did, however, own a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble, which was the game’s follow up, and I really enjoyed that one, so this is a game I wanted to revisit and see if I could play through it.

Overall, the game stands up well and is still fun to play. I hope you enjoy this gameplay that I put together in 1080p60 for you!
