Low-Level Fractals in “Guild Wars 2!”

Since Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns launches on October 23, I wanted to clear off my backlog of GW2-related videos that will predate the release of this latest expansion. Of course, it’s all in good fun! 🙂

The Fractals of the Mists are the end-game dungeon environments for GW2, and it’s a somewhat complicated system to explain to people that don’t know much about it. But, basically, although the normal dungeon content can be challenging, the Fractal instances are quite a bit harder, particularly as you advance to the higher levels of content there. Each run is randomized with a series of four instances you will need to complete (though this will change after Heart of Thorns launches), and completing them nets you a fair amount of loot as well as chances at getting Ascended-tier items at the higher levels. As your levels progress, you start to encounter new threats, new detrimental effects, and stronger enemies as you go. It seems that ArenaNet is trying to let the “normal” dungeon content die a slow death, while pushing Fractals as “where it’s at,” so it’s going to be interesting to see where they take them in the coming months.

A special thanks to Nerdy Nurse and the others from our guild that tagged along for this run. It was a lot of fun!

Stay tuned – more GW2 fun is on the way!
