Bloody Mary’s plot is a story about vampires, but not the glittery sparkles kinds that we’ve been seeing so much of recently, Oh no, this is a story about a vampire who is not sparkly, nor like the conventional portrayal of Vamps in classic media. Mary is a Vampire who is able to withstand sunlight, has a reflection in mirrors, and he refuses to drink blood. He also wants to die, and so he enlists the help of a priest/student named Maria to kill him. Sadly Maria has no idea how to kill him and so he agrees to become Maria’s body guard until Maria can find a way to kill him.

VIZ Media Editor Erica Yee; “Bloody Mary is a supernatural drama infused with suspense, cheeky humor and unique characters”.

As of the writing of this article I haven’t had the pleasure of reading any of Akaza Samamiya’s previous works, but that doesn’t restrain the curiosity I have for this new series in the slightest. According to VIZ the manga will be released quarterly, and will be published under Shojo Beat imprint which will set you back $9.99 USD, or $12.99 CAN respectively. It will also be available digitally via VIZManga.com and VIZ Manga App, as well as on  Nook, Kobo, Kindle, iBooks, comiXology and the GooglePlay store.
