PlayStation VR will launch in October for $399

PS-VR

Today at the Game Developer’s Conference, Sony announced that the PlayStation VR headset will launch in October 2016 for $399 USD.

This places Sony very competively in the  virtual reality market against Oculus Rift which will launch on March 28 for $600, and HTC Vive which launches in early April for $800.

Sony also stated that 50 games will be available by the end of this year, and that more than 230 developers are working on Sony VR projects. PlayStation VR will include a download code for Playroom in VR, which will consist of 6 mini-games.

Included for $399 is the VR headset, a processor unit, a power supply, a VR headset connection cable, HDMI and USB cables, and headphones.

The PlayStation 4 camera, currently $59.99, must be purchased separately for the PlayStation VR to operate. Stay tuned to TheButtonSmashers.com for further exciting developments and announcements about the PlayStation VR!
