So Nintendo has recently released a new trailer for Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, the divisive Wii U exclusive JRPG that melds the Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem universes together into a unique amalgamation of color, music, action and misinformed people on the internet complaining about its existence, if the comments on this latest trailer is anything to be believed.
In this video, we get a brief rundown of the main premise of the game, along with some terminology and other small facts about the game. All of this information is brought to us by one DJ MasterSeal, who in my opinion, sounds like a 90s kid trying to sound like a 2016 kid that wants to sound like a 90s kid. There’s really nothing wrong with the game or what was shown about it, but the person talking through most of it makes it sounds like Nintendo was trying really hard to be “hip and cool” with the kids to the point that they sound incredibly out of touch with the people they are marketing it to. Even then, I don’t think that excuses the absolutely depressing amount of hate that both the game and the trailer is getting, so I implore that you don’t even think of looking at the comments on that video; you’ll get a headache.
In any case, I wish to stand my ground and say that the game will most likely be great, considering the opinions of people that have actually played it for themselves instead of judging it on more trivial grounds.
