Interesting New Open-World, Sci-Fi FPS On The Horizon

Today we got our first gameplay trailer for The Signal From Tölva. The Signal From Tölva is Big Robot’s forthcoming open-world, sci-fi FPS about exploring an alien planet, fighting enemy factions and solving the mystery of The Signal. They teased a lot in their reveal trailer, but this reveals what Tölva is really all about: combat, tactics, and dynamic AI.

As you’ll see in the trailer (aptly sub-titled “Robots & Ruckus”), you control a robot chassis on the planet Tölva and will encounter serious jeopardy in the form of hostile robot factions. Along the way you’ll procure guns and equipment, capture bunkers and waypoints, and combat the enemy forces vying for control of planet’s many territories. Open-world FPS players will feel at home exploring the vast world and getting into strategic skirmishes, but the rich sci-fi world Big Robot has crafted brings a unique alien vibe where building-size robot skeletons and strange lifeforms are commonplace. This is Big Robot’s follow-up to 2013’s Sir, You’re Being Hunted, however rather than building their world via procedural generation as the did in Sir, the planet Tölva has been handcrafted for players to explore and experience.

About The Signal From Tölva
The Signal From Tölva is an open-world, sci-fi FPS from Big Robot, the British development team behind Sir, You Are Being Hunted. The Signal From Tölva will be available in early 2017 for Windows and OSX. The Signal From Tölva is a journey into a wild science fiction landscape, filled with danger and beauty: you must survive terrible hazards, navigate through impossible spaces, and fight an ongoing battle to control this haunted, blighted world. You will make use of a range of powerful tools to overcome your enemies and uncover secrets: hack robots to battle alongside you, equip powerful weapons and savage defense systems.
We’re really interested in what this new FPS could deliver and will be keeping a close eye on any new developments related to it leading up to it’s release.
