Summon Night 6 For The PS4 To Offer Varied Package Designs

As work continues feverishly on the English-language localization of Summon Night 6: Lost Borders, GAIJINWORKS has released new details about the innovative player-selectable variant packaging of the PlayStation 4 version of the game.

Since his days as the president of independent game publisher Working Designs in the 1990s, GAIJINWORKS founder Victor Ireland has long championed the use of variant box, and disc label artwork to encourage communication between fans. Summon Night 6 will mark the first time that players can actually specify their preferred packaging variant while placing an online order at retail outlets like Amazon.

Three different package designs will be offered for the standard retail version of Summon Night 6 for PlayStation 4. Each variant features one of three characters (Raj, Amu or Ist) on the back of the box, and on the game disc label. A fourth variant is being produced exclusively for the Wonderful Edition box set that was only available by preorder placed prior to December of 2016.

As an additional bonus for day-one purchasers, the initial print run of Summon Night 6 physical copies for the PS4 and PlayStation Vita will include a special voucher that can be mailed in (along with a $3.95 shipping/handling fee) to obtain a free copy of the game’s original soundtrack on CD (a $29.99 retail value). The free CD includes all of the music from the game and comes complete with a case and full-color disc art, both of which are different from the soundtrack CD included with the Wonderful Edition box set. Only the initial shipment of games will have this bonus item.

Summon Night 6: Lost Borders, now set for a North American release on May 23, 2017.
