The Buttonsmashers Holiday Game Guide 2018

With the holidays not too far away most people are already planning their shopping lists, so we thought we’d weigh in with a few games and services that we think Gamers should consider. Our Holiday Gift Guide 2018 features mostly items that we’ve covered here on the site and will feature links to reviews or coverage of them to help you make more informed decisions.

Starting with games, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite games that we think will make great gifts or be a perfect fit for your collection. The games are in no particular order, and each will appeal to different people. Any platform left out for a game is not recommended by us. Example: We do no endorse Pro Evolution Soccer on XBOX ONE because the XBOX  does not allow patching in team kits. Find more details by clicking on the link for our reviews/ coverage of the games.

Gaming Services

  • Humble Monthly: link – When you’e a gamer with a small budget, getting all the new games can be a bit of a hassle. In comes Humble Monthly. This service from the Humble store offers new games each month for the price of $12/month. Each bundle comes with one major title and a few other smaller ones. Getting an annual package for this is a no brainer given the price and the quality of titles you get with it.
  • Utomik: Link – Have you ever wanted to play a lot of games, but you don’t have the budget for them? Games are expensive and not every gamer cares to play the newest stuff. Utomik offers a service that allows users to play games from their catalog of 880 games for a monthly fee. The games download to your PC while you play, so you don’t need to wait long to get into it. These games range from a lot of genres, and publishers. Titles like the Batman Arkham series to Tokyo Xanadu. There’s a bit of something for every gamer. At $7/month for a single user account or $10/month for 4 users this is a steal of a deal for gamers on a budget.
  • Just Dance 2019: Every household needs a copy of Just Dance 2019. It’s listed under services because you’ll need to get monthly plan to have access to all the songs from the library of songs from previous years. It’s a massive library and the game is a massive amount of fun at get together. My recommendation is to get the game and take out the 1 month plan when ever you have guest over.
