Ratchet & Clank return on PS5
The reveal for the PS5 brought with it announcements for a few fan favorite titles. One of those was the announce of a new Ratchet & Clank game – Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
This new title sees the titular duo on an interdimensional adventure by harnessing the power of the PlayStation 5. This seems to result in what seems to be the most expansive game in the series. The trailer showed the two hopping from dimension to dimension within seconds with zero loading. Likely facilitated by the impressive performance of the system’s SSD.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart also looks to be one of the titles to be harnessing the power of the PS5’s ray-tracing. In doing so it gains more realistic lighting and reflections to truly become a playable Pixar movie. We even get a new white wombat – possibly a female alter-ego from one of the dimensions.
No release date for the game has been announced yet but based on the footage we can infer that it will release along side the console or during 2021.
