“Extra-Lives in Terraria” (Holiday 2013 Fundraiser Video!)

As most of you hopefully know, on December 13-14 of 2013, I hosted a special charity fundraising event that was designed to raise money for the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital via the Children’s Miracle Network. This was, of course, accomplished through Extra-Life. I kind of got off to a late-start planning the event, and yet with only a three-week preparation period to use to coordinate everything and advertise it to build up pre-event funding, by the close of the stream in the very early hours of December 14, we had raised 110% of our desired goal!

I owe an awful lot to Jeremy Stratton (@StratXGaming) and Mark Matthews (a.k.a. Aristeia) who provided a lot of moral support before the event and who both were there as co-hosts during the actual fundraising event playing the game with me. We had a lot of fun and our live viewers seemed to as well.

As the title of this post implies, we ended up playing the 2D crafting and adventure game called “Terraria.” We built a really large tower, a sky bridge, and then got our asses handed to us by a powerful dungeon guardian. All around, it was a good time.

Thank you also to everyone who helped spread the word about this event and who donated to the charity!

If you did not manage to donate prior to or during the event, don’t worry! Donations will still be accepted through December 31, 2013, so follow this link right here and click “Support” to give money to the Children’s Miracle Network!
