“Zelda: Flow of Time” — Frustrating Dungeons Await!

It always amazes me to find some of the super high-quality fan-made games out there that can rival ones put out by AAA companies, and Zelda: Flow of Time (Remastered) is one of those games. It really has a professional feel to it and looks like it could go toe-to-toe with its obvious inspirations: the Oracle games of the franchise.

Yet, like a lot of fan-made games out there, this game ramps up the difficulty pretty quick, and even in what is only the third dungeon of the game I quickly find myself at my wit’s end with some of the challenges. In fact, this video ends with me getting very upset with the mid-boss of the Treasure Grave dungeon, and the frustration I felt there and in places prior to that might keep me from even bothering to do a fourth video of this game. It’s a shame, too, because I think most of it is very well-done and the game does tell a really good story.

Anyway…Last time, we completed the Crater Cove dungeon, so after I explore the overworld a bit using our new Power Bracelet to find a new heart piece, we travel to the west, visit the ranch, and then enter a time portal we find to travel to Gly’cov’s past. There, we gain access to the cemetery, find the Magic Candle hidden within, visit a shrine to locate the portal back to the “present,” and then hunt down the Treasure Grave dungeon. Again, the dungeon is very difficult and some of it feels slightly bugged, but I do manage to get through most of it, at least!

Quick note: I used the “Screen Region” capture of Bandicam to record this one, and sadly that mode seems a bit choppy. I’m not sure if it’s just Zelda Classic, or something else, but next time I record a ZC game, I’ll go back to OBS! Live and learn, I guess!

If you want to see me continue and do a fourth part, let me know! Otherwise, I may just find another fun Zelda fan-game to showcase for you!
