Interview with J. Michael Tatum at Anime North 2015

John Michael Tatum is an American voice actor, ADR director, and script writer at Funimation/OkraTron 5000 who provides voices for a number of English versions of Japanese anime series, and video games. We got a chance to sit down with Michael at Anime North 2015 in Canada, to get to know the man behind the voice.

Some of his most notable roles have been Kyoya Ootori (Ouran High School Host Club), Sebastian Michaelis (Black Butler), and Julius Will Kresnik (Tales of Xillia 2). If you’d like to see a full list of all the roles he has voiced/ written check his Wikipedia profile.

  1. Shame he cant act for shit >.< We've not had decent VA's in anime since the early 90's. They all come across as failed actors these days. Though admittedly a good part of that is the way that the publishers do the dubing. But also down to the fact that western VA's just don't do the training that japanese ones go through.
