Death Note is Finally Available on Blu-Ray

After much begging on the part of fans, Viz Media has finally announced that the critically acclaimed edgy, supernatural crime thriller Death Note will be available on Blu-ray from March 1st, 2016. Written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi, this manga was a groundbreaking series that is still a favourite.

In DEATH NOTE, Light Yagami is a genius high school student who is about to learn about life through a book of death. When a bored shinigami, a god of death, named Ryuk drops a black notebook called a Death Note, Light receives power over life and death with the stroke of a pen. Determined to use this dark gift for the best, Light sets out to rid the world of evil – namely the people he believes to be evil. Should anyone own such power? The consequences of Light’s actions will set the world ablaze.

The set will be available in two versions. Death Note Blu-Ray Standard Edition which retails for $54.97 U.S. / $63.99 CAN and features the complete 37 episode series plus three hours of bonus content including interviews with the creators and behind the scenes footage. The second is a six disc Death Note: The Omega Edition Blu-Ray Limited Edition for $69.99 U.S. / $81.99 CAN which also includes two feature length films and a 64 page booklet that includes the original manga pilot.
