Ultimate Chicken Horse Launches March 4

On March 4, 2016, Ultimate Chicken Horse will release on Steam (Wii U, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 versions coming soon. We were able to preview the game, and it’s a lot of fun. Described as a party platform game, up to four players select an animal to control and select a stage. Within the stage, players choose objects to place in the environment between the starting point and the goal. The objects may be helpful to bridge the gap like platforms or stairs. But you don’t want to make it too easy to reach the goal for your opponents! Screw over your friends by placing barbed wire, buzzsaws, spiked platforms, ice, and even black holes in the most inconvenient places. After everyone has placed their objects, the race to the other side is on. Points are awarded for being first to the goal, coming from behind, and dodging traps.

The mayhem and carnage that occurs after a few rounds of traps being set is truly hilarious. Everyone on the couch will laugh as the poor animals meet their dooms to spinning blades, arrows, and high velocity hockey pucks. Although playing with your friends in the room is probably the most fun, online play is also supported. There is even a mode that allows players to pass one controller and take turns.

We had a lot of fun playing Ultimate Chicken Horse, check out our quick look video below.  A copy of the game was provided, and as always, you can check out out my thoughts on this and other games on the Plug and Play Podcast.
