Top 5 Gamercentric web shows
A few years ago one could not fathom the idea of no Tele. As kids we grew up with the idea of this idiot box of joy seemed to be eternal. So much so that when the internet became mainstream to us rich people (you reading this are one to) it never occurred to much of us that we don’t need teles anymore.
Nowadays we watch movies and tv shows via netflix and get news from youtube. we collect mail via our inbox and make calls via skype/ Google Hangouts. This new internet heavy world is a blissful place that allows us to communicate at a faster rate and be more productive, which means more time for eating curry and playing video games (you know the important stuff in life).
Back in the 90’s gaming and all things that could be considered nerdy were highly considered uncool, today that is the exact opposite. Today gaming has been embraced and the modern cool nerds of today are the ones that lead the society in this technological age. So it is only fitting that a lot of shows would be made that encourage and celebrate this culture. This is my top 5 gamer web shows that celebrate Gaming and nerd culture.
5. Coming up 5th on my list is The Online Gamer
Starring Eric Pumphrey as Aaron, the show follow the character as he creates mayhem. Aaron is the stereotypical representation of what a fps gamer is like. He always spouting things like “noob, killstreak and most famous LAG!!!”. Aaron is violent, rude and obnoxious. He more often than not gets his own way by bullying those around him. The online gamer is a nice show to have you laughing for hours but first get the kids out of the room this one has a lot of foul language hence the reason it’s at number 5 #Adultsonly.
(but to be honest this is not the image of all fps gamers some are quite mellow i.e.shellz)
4. coming in at number 4 is IGN’s Game shop
Game shop is one of the coolest and funnest Gamercentric web shows out there. This is because the four main characters are relatable and each serve a purpose in the overall plot. The story is about a man (Sebastian) who makes a tetris rip off and makes millions. After getting rich he opens a video game retail store and the main four are his employees; Chloe the cute, shy classic gamer chick with an inferiority complex, Derrick the alpha gamer and fps junkie, Terry the simple classic nerd who plays pokemon watches anime and is too smart to notice the girl, and last is Igor who’s name suggest that he is big and not that bright, or is he?
this one would have scored higher but it is new and needs to spread it’s wings.
