Xenoblade X: The Wii U Savior?

I had a conversation with a bro of mine recently, during which he claimed that Nintendo was due to fade away like Sega did so many years ago. He is a gamer that I would consider to be hardcore as he tends to play titles the like of Dark Souls and Final Fantasy, and in a way I kind of understand the reason behind his claim. His claims are based on the Wii U’s lack of overall power when compared to the other current Gen consoles and it’s lack of third party support. Now that being said, I strongly disagree with him on this particular matter. Nintendo is a company that has always produced quality games and quality unique platforms in which to play them on. One of those games was Xenoblade Chronicles for the Nintendo Wii. This was one of the last great Wii titles and probably one of the best RPGs ever made. The game was vast and pushed the aging platform to its limits the likes of which I don’t think any other developer/publisher had ever done before.

Later this year, the Wii U, the successor to the Wii is getting the sequel to that very same game and boy does it look amazing. If my bro is reading this article I recommend you watch the attached video and then tell me that this game is not going to be a top seller. It’s single handily going to push Wii U console sales and that’s before the release of Zelda which will further propel the platform to even greater heights.

Yes Nintendo does not have the support of third parties right now, but they should be commended for keeping their home console relevant all on their own. If other developers are not able to put out the same quality of games as Nintendo on that Wii U then quite frankly I’ll just call that LAZY and leave it at that.
