According to “SHMUPS Skill Test” My Gamer Age Sucks!

Indeed, if the tests that are part of Triangle Service’s newest offering SHMUPS Skill Test are at all accurate, my “gamer age” is pretty bad!

Those of you that are into shoot ’em up games are likely aware of Triangle Service because of all the fantastic titles they put out, such as XIIZEAL and DELTAZEAL. While I’ve said before that I’m not a major fan of the genre, it definitely has grown on me in the past year or two because for some reason I keep being given codes to SHMUP games. Yet, I guess forcing myself to play them hasn’t really improved my skills as much as it could, because they definitely don’t stand up to the tests in this new title.

SHMUPS Skill Test is part of Triangle Service’s “Shooting Love 200X” collection, serving as the first title released (later ones will include EXZEALMinus Zero, and TRIZEAL). This game is more like a collection of mini-games though, offering you the ability to challenge any specific one of them once unlocked or going through a 5 to 10 minute session that will offer you a “gamer age” rating at the end. In addition to all of that, there are multiplayer modes too (which I’ve not tested).

Currently, this title is $4.99 on Steam. It’s not the beefiest of offerings, though, so whether or not its worth that small price will be up to you and your tastes. If you want something short that you can take in “one and done” type sessions, this might be a good buy. However, if you’re looking for something a bit more substantive, you may want to wait and pick up one of the other titles.
