“Demetrios” Definitely Delivers on a BIG Cynical Adventure!

A little bit ago, I received an email from the developer of a game called Demetrios: The BIG Cynical Adventure asking if I’d be interested in taking a look at his game and giving it some coverage (maybe even a video). This was actually really neat because normally I deal more with PR representatives and the like who will contact me about reviews/previews, so getting a direct request from the game’s creator to look at the game was certainly a welcome surprise. Of course, I knew nothing about this one, but the premise seemed good and I’m a sucker for a nice point-and-click adventure, so I figured I’d go ahead and give it a shot, hopefully doing it justice in the process.

Demetrios released on May 31, 2016 on Steam and is estimated to take between 8 and 12 hours to complete. In this 45 or so minute gameplay sample, we really only barely scratch the surface I think and I’m left still wondering what’s actually going on. That’s a good thing though, because it makes me want to keep playing on to see where the story takes us.

What I really like about this one is its sense of humor. The game provides funny (and yes, cynical!) observations on just about everything you can click on, and this definitely lightens the mood and keeps the game fresh. Yet, don’t let the whimsy fool you: this is definitely a solid, puzzling adventure title. You’ll really want to explore all possibilities and even then you may get stuck in a few spots. Thankfully, there are cookies you can find as you play that, after eating, will provide you with a little insight on what you might want to do next.

The game is definitely a good one, and if you are at all a fan of point-and-click titles, I’d highly recommend you check this one out on Steam!

Thanks for dropping in! Stick around for more gaming fun in the near future! 🙂
