London to host the Overwatch MGA 2016 Championship Grand Finals

The massively popular team-based multiplayer first-person shooter, Overwatch, is currently dominating both the casual and eSports scene, so it should come as no surprise that it is one of the titles headlining the MGA Championship Grand Finals in London this year.

The Gfinity Arena & Studios will play host to its first Overwatch event from December 7th – 8th, as the best teams from Europe, the Americas and Asia compete for their share of the $75,000 prize pool.

This year, Masters Gaming Arena (MGA) 2016 will descend upon London for the very first time, as MSI teams up with Blizzard Entertainment’s new team-based first-person shooter, Overwatch. Featuring a diverse cast of 22 unique heroes and a variety of game modes, including Assault, Escort and Control, Overwatch allows players to swap heroes in order to adapt to the ever-changing situation on the battlefield—the action is fast and fun, and the tactical possibilities are endless.
MSI MGA 2016 is currently open for registrations to European, American and Asian teams, and is scheduled to close on the 27th September, 2016. The first Regional Online Qualifier will commence from October 4th – 11th.

The top eight teams from each Regional Online Qualifier will then compete at the Regional Finals from October 14th – 21st, in which the winning teams from each respective region will receive their invitation, alongside one MSI sponsored team, to the Grand Finals, held at Gfinity Arena, London, United Kingdom from December 7th – 8th.

The Overwatch MGA 2016 Championship Grand Finals will feature a $75,000 prize pool, with the victors taking home the $40,000 grand prize, while the second, third and fourth place teams will receive $20,000, $10,000 and $5,000 respectively.
