505 Games Partnering w/ IGA on “Bloodstained!”

Global publisher 505 Games just announced today that it was entering into an agreement for worldwide publishing rights to Koji “IGA” Igarashi’s latest opus Bloodstained.

Last year, Bloodstained raised over $5,500,000 through crowdfunding on Kickstarter with more than 65,000 backers. Early demos of the game have been very well-received and already gamers have been touting this new title as the spiritual successor to the highly-acclaimed Castlevania series, which Igarashi served as the producer of from 2001 to 2010. Much like many of the Castlevania titles from the late-1990s and beyond, Bloodstained is a “Metroidvania” style platformer with 2.5D graphics, focusing heavily on exploration and adventure.

Bloodstained is being developed for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, XBOX One, the Wii U, and mobile devices (which will not be handled by 505 Games).

So far, no release date has been officially announced.
