One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition to PS4 and Nintendo Switch

Back in 2014 I listed One Piece: Unlimited World Red as one of my favorite games for that year, and so you can just imaging my extreme excitement when I learned that Bandai Namco was porting the game to the PS4 and Nintendo Switch for the Japanese market. The publisher has released the first trailer for the game, and it looks just as gorgeous to me as it did back in 2013/2014.

The game was originally released under the title “One Piece: Unlimited World Red” in 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS and then re-released in 2014 for Wii U, PS3, and PS Vita in 2014.

One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition will be a 2-player co-op action/adventure by developer Ganbarion. It will run at a max 60 FPS and 1080p on both PS4 and Switch. The only exception is when the Switch is in tabletop or handheld mode, then it will run in 720p. One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition was originally released under the title “One Piece: Unlimited World Red” in 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS and then re-released in 2014 for Wii U, PS3, and PS Vita in 2014. This 2017 version of the game will include all the downloadable content from the prior release. Like the previous versions, it will feature the same, original story which takes players through the Straw Hat Crew’s adventures on the Forgotten Island as they try to reunite with their kidnapped crew members, battle fearsome enemies, bosses, and come face to face with the Red Count; a frighteningly powerful pirate who escaped the lower depths of Impel Down, the infamous underwater maximum-security prison for the most dangerous criminals and pirates.

One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe will be released for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan on August 24, 2017. At the moment we have no confirmation for an English release, but we thing it’s a safe bet to assume that the game will be released for both EU and NA regions as well.
