The Vita Continues To live into 2020

Though the general press would have you believe that the PS Vita is a dead device without any relevance that’s actually far from the truth. Sony’s little abandoned wunderkind is among the top two devices for fans of JRPGs and in some situations it definitely takes number 1 spot thanks to it’s minute footprint. The fan base has also not diminished in any substantial way (to date) even with the presence of the Nintendo Switch.

With approximately 20 plus titles still to be released for the platform, one of which releases tomorrow, it’s safe to say that vita fans have a lot to look forward to. One of those is the recently announced Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen for the PS4 and PS Vita (digital only).

About the Story:

For the first time ever, the origins of the Utawarerumono saga are coming overseas! Prelude to the Fallen follows the story of a man with no memories who awakens in a strange world, and is taken in by a tribe of kindhearted villagers. He is raised as one of their own, eventually receiving the name “Hakuoro.” When neighboring nations begin to encroach on his village, Hakuoro rises up against the tyrannical invaders, setting off on an unforgettable journey that lives on in the songs of legend.

Key Features:

  • An Epic Tale – Become immersed in a turbulent story of love, war, and destiny.
  • Heroes of Myth – Unravel the tale of a diverse cast of characters, and watch how their fates intertwine.
  • Art of War – Claim victory through the use of tactics, elemental advantages, and the unique strengths of your party members.

After covering the other two Utawarerumono titles available for the Vita, this one is a very welcomed surprised. The previous two are among the best Visual Novel/Strategy RPGs have to offer, and with NIS America at the helm it should turn out to be a wonderful experience for early 2020.

  1. I’m glad I read this. I wanted to get a PS Vita but someone was pushing me towards not getting cause they said it was going to die out soon. Now I’m definitely getting one. I love this site!
