Introducing The EVERCADE

Evercade is a brand new handheld console with unique, officially licensed multi-game cartridges. The device borrows a colour scheme and button layout to a super Nintendo, but with this form factor of a PSP.

This device is obviously a novelty product for fans of classic games who wish to have their games with them on the go. How good those games are will dictate if this console is a hit or miss with consumer.

Currently the EVERCADE has 85 confirmed games including Pac-Man, Aseroid, Earthworm Jom and Bomberman. The games range from 8 to 16 bit titles and the library is capable of increasing via the EVERCADE Cartridges, which can store between 6 and 20 games.

The handheld console also has some much appreciated quality of life features including 3.5mm audio jack, HDMI out and save-states. The display is 4.3 inches and offers a choice between 4:3 or 16:9 ratios. With a battery life between 4 and 5 hours you’ll be gaining about as much as you’d get from a PS Vita, Switch or 3DS just sporting less visually complex games.

At a retail price of just £59.99/€69.99/$79.99 with individual cartridges costing only £14.99/€17.99/$19.99 it’s difficult not to see this as a win for collectors. It’s not too expensive and it has the capability for it’s library to LEGALLY grow unlike the NES and PlayStation Classic consoles.

There’s currently no news on where or when you’ll be able to get one, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we know.
