Forza Horizon 5 on PC Riddled With Crashes

Now I know it’s been a minute since I last uploaded something to this channel but let’s pretend that I have been active and get on with it.

Forza Horizon 5 just released today for the the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC but if you’re planning on playing the game on PC, chances are you won’t be able to. The PC version of the game is unfortunately crippled with a launch bug and crashes. The only way I was able to play it was through XBOX Cloud Gaming, which worked but was not the ideal way for me to play the game – given that my setup includes a Radeon 6800 XT, 32 GB Ram and a Ryzen 5 3600. Specs like these should be able to run the game at max settings effortlessly but alas we’ll have to wait for that.

So why is the game crashing and what can be done about it?

According to the official Forza Support Team, the game may crash due to your antivirus software, other software like discord, time and date settings and so much more. Their suggestions involve the end users turning off all these software and troubleshooting the game till it launches. Really? Why should I have to make my PC vulnerable by turning off my antivirus to play a game?

Why?

Why is it that a PC game released in 2021 has to have this much issues with just launching the game? Why should a player need to turn off their antivirus software or regularly used applications just to get it to run? None of these issues should be present in one of the biggest games to be launched on the XBOX platform for the year. This is arguably one of the two biggest titles for XBOX in 2021 and yet it’s unplayable on day one.

Hopefully the team at Turn10 figure out this situation and have the game fixed before the end of the day but if not, don’t get Forza Horizon 5 for the PC.
