It Happened – Persona On XBOX

For years the PlayStation brand has been known as the JRPG player’s console but that narrative has slowly been changing. First with censorship and now with the upcoming release of the Persona mainline series on XBOX platforms for the first time. If you told any JRPG fan back in 2006 that this would happen they’d laugh in your face but given PlayStation’s recent track record it’s not that inconceivable. Persona on Xbox will include Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal.

All three games will also be available on Game Pass as well as on PC. That’s right folks, Persona 5 is finally dropping on PC and we love to see it.

First out the gate will be Persona 5 Royal on October 21st 2022. The other two will launch later but no release date has been provided at the time of writing. Each Persona on Xbox will of course include the best version of each game (P3P debatable) so that means all the DLC in one package but that’s not all.

When looking at P3P it’s clear how much the industry is changing. This is a game that has not been released on any current PlayStation devices, yet Xbox got it? This is an astronomical deal. How Microsoft pulled this off is a mystry but to keen eyes it was just a matter of time.

According to the devs, Persona 3 will also feature enhanced visuals. That doesn’t seem like much from the gameplay released so far but hopefully in time it will look better. Who are we kidding, Modders will fix it.

Persona on Xbox, Game Pass and PC marks a new future for the series and hopefully the switch is next. Looking at you Nintendo. -_-
