Today Nintendo showcased the Pokémon series as well as the upcoming X and Y games for the Nintendo 3DS handheld system on a special Nintendo Direct. This Pokémon Direct as it is called showed off the evolution of the series and how it became what it is today. They also showed off a few new features like Pokémon Bank, an annual subscription service that will allow Pokémon fans to store up to 3,000 of their Pokémon on a cloud server that can then be downloaded to your Pokémon X and Y game as well as future releases of Pokémon games that may be released. This is a service that makes sense from a technical stand point because hardware changes and so does the connectivity between systems. With a service like this it would not matter what kind of future hardware changes Nintendo makes to their systems just as long as they have Internet connectivity on the future devices. I very much welcome a service like this as it will insure that I don’t have to re-create a new “Chad” (My first Pokémon and pall a Typhlosion) every few games that have a big change.
