30-DAY ANIME CHALLENGE! (DAY 6): Anime You Want to See But Haven’t Yet

Well…….this is a little embarrassing to say……….

………………..and I know a lot of you will hate me for saying so…………..

…………………

………………….

but I personally haven’t seen quite a few big anime movies, such as Kiki’s Delivery Service, The Wind Rises, and Akira.

…………………………..

I can feel the hate towards me from miles away.

I dunno why, but I just haven’t gotten to seeing these marvelous (or so I’ve heard) movies yet.  It might be my lack of motivation to watch movies recently, or just my diversion from popular meta stuff until who knows when.  Now, I’m not saying that I’m repulsed by popular things; think of it as a phase, where you just don’t feel like doing something you would normally do.  Watching movies is definitely one of them.

I also realize how influential these movies are not just in Japan but also, more so, in the west.  Akira, for example, with its success with the American market, essentially influenced a whole generation of the western audience to further explore anime as a medium.  And the two Ghibli films I mentioned, well, THEY’RE GHIBLI FILMS.  THERE IS NO NEED FOR A REASON TO WATCH THEM.

Maybe someday I would get into those movies, but between anime and school, it may have to wait a while.

In other news:  I also haven’t seen Fate/Zero, Parasyte, Welcome to the NHK, Gintama, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, One Week Friends, and the Evangelion Rebuild movies.

I-I mean…..whut?

U-uuuhmm……..s-s-s-s-o w-what did you guys think of these movies, if you’ve seen them?  Let me know in the comment section down below!  Okaaaaayyy?

Don’t mind whatever I said, k?

Please don’t kill me.

S-s-see you guys on Day 7!

  1. Don’t have too high expectations for Kiki’s Delivery Service. It’s very nice and all, but I’ve seen better films of that ilk less known only due to the fact they weren’t animated by Ghibli. Akira’s good tho. Still, far from the best anime films I’ve seen, but very good nonetheless. Damn, I miss the drawing style of the 80’s. I hope there’ll be more films and series to ladle from that look, like Kill la Kill does. Also, one life wouldn’t be enough to watch each and every piece of anime various people deem a genre’s marvel, so don’t feel bad for missing few, you’re just a mortal after all… I guess. 😉
