TRAILS OF COLD STEEL to release on Tuesday

The Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel

Nihon Falcom Corporation’s new RPG, “The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel” is only a few days away from its North American release.

The game is set to take place on the same continent as the fan favorite Trails in the Sky offshoot of Nihon Falcom’s storied The Legend of Heroes franchise, Trails of Cold Steel (Sen no Kiseki in Japanese) is the first in the series to tread Erebonian soil and explore the inner political conflicts of this oft-mentioned powerhouse nation in detail. With a standalone story that also delves into the expansive lore that has become synonymous with the series, players can enjoy school life and bond with fellow students to earn new abilities in battle, take advantage of speedy, tactical turn-based combat with the newly-developed “ARCUS” system, and uncover dramatic events that stand to change everything these two opposing social classes stand for.

According to NA publisher XSEED Games, the game will have an expertly told story-line that should appeal to both Trials Vets and newcomers alike. It will also have a streamlined magic system from the previous titles with new “ARCUS” units, allowing for more ready access to abilities and quicker customization.

The game will also support the cross save feature to allow players to continue their quest no matter where they may be, which is going to be very useful for those of us that are not always in front of a console screen, but would still like to continue questing on the go.

  1. The first Trials in Sky game I played was horrible. I received a review copy on PC and it was one of the worst games I played last year. If this follows the other Trials in the Sky game it’ll be on PC soon. I don’t think I’m looking forward to it.
