Its everything the manga is and more
Today I got the chance to watch the first 3 episodes of Assassination Classroom (Ansatsu Kyoushitsu) on Hulu while having my breakfast. I’ve been wanting to watch this since I heard that they were making an anime adaptation of the Shonen jump manga by the same name, but I’ve been so caught up with so many other aspects of my life that I’ve somehow missed out on it till now. I’m a bit happy that I waited a bit before watching it because I at least got to watch 3 episode instead of just one, however a small part of me wishes I waited till the season ended to watch at least 12 episodes in a row.
I want more 😀
The anime is based on a character known as Koro sensei, a name given to him by the students that he teaches, because he is almost impossible to kill. Koro is a very special creature that is able to move at March 20. He is also considered to be the most powerful being on the planet. This is made quite clear at the beginning of the anime when they explain to the students that he is responsible for destroying most of the moon in an amazing display of his power, after which he makes a treat to do the same to the earth in a year unless someone can kill him. To make matters even stranger he requests to be a school teacher for a class of misfits who have been discarded by their school, parents, teachers and pairs as failures. This class will be the only ones close enough to Koro to kill him so the government tasked them with the task to save the world by killing him with very special materials that can only harm him. Ok that’s the Synopsis of the anime…. Now go watch it, like now.
HAHA just kidding I’ll tell you a bit more about why you should be watching this anime. You see it is one of those gems that that you get every 10 years or so. An anime that make the top of charts, and gets tons of games and merch, like Naruto, and One Piece. It’s what some may call mainstream/ popular anime. However it is not something that should be overlooked because of that. I know many of you reading this overlook anime that are popular for whatever reason, but if you were to give one a chance, then give it to this one. It’s both interesting, funny and bad arse when it wants to be. Though it may be a popular series the story is not your standard affair of; one guy has to save the world against all odds. No this story is one of discovery. One about numerous characters trying to find their place in the world and the monster that’s helping them achieve that goal. Think Great Teacher Onizuka.
Assassination classroom is an anime that should not be missed by anyone. It’s new, but the manga has more than 100 chapters under its belt and all are great so far. So take my advice and “grab a glass of water, a muffin” and enjoy a good anime in your free time.
if you’d like to hear more about my thoughts about this anime, then I suggest you listen to the Buttonsmashers podcast.
