Techland is back, and is taking their world of Dying Light to the next level. A new expansion is to be released February 9th, 2016. It’ll be a digital download available on all platforms.

Dying Light introduced a unique game style with its first-person parkour method. One of the smoothest parkour games in the modern generation, it allowed players a front-row viewing to the horror of zombies and their volatile counterparts that released at night. The expansion is titled Dying Light: The Following and has several key additions. These include, but are not limited to a brand new map, drivable vehicles, and a whole new story.

The new map is said to be twice the size as the original, with plenty of new environments, characters, quests and secrets to unveil. The mechanics will force players to adapt to the new extensive map, and plan your game methodically to “gain the upper hand”. The drivable vehicles are the exciting new addition. Fully customizable, with weapon-attachments, decals, and paint jobs. It has its entire own leveling tree, granting the player the ability to specialize in any aspect that they wish. The story will resume with Kyle Crane after the events of the original game: “where they’ll encounter a mysterious, and seemingly all – powerful cult, capable of changing the face of Dying Light’s world. To infiltrate and unravel dark secrets of The Following, Kyle Crane will need to face all – new challenges and use his abilities to the limit.”

Personally having played the original, along with its Dead Island predecessors, I am thrilled to explore the new addition. The parkour was done brilliantly, and the night and day aspect of the zombies made it more exciting and exhilarating to play. We here at The Buttonsmashers look forward to what Techland will present with this addition.
