KOEI TECMO America announced the release of the latest entry in GUST Studios’ Atelier series, Atelier Firis:The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey.

It is now available for the PlayStation 4, for the PlayStation Vita via digital release and on the Windows PC via Steam.

Background Story:
Here, we follow the adventures of Firis Mistlud as she takes her first steps into the outside world to become a certified alchemist and embarks on quite the journey.
With her knowledge limited to her home in an isolated village, Firis learns of the Alchemy Exam and sets off into the unknown, where the mysteries of life await her.

The game’s vast new world reach up to ten times the size of that of its predecessor, Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, and also comes with views ranging from busy harbors to murmuring rivers, to imposing mountains, and much more.

There is also the bigger role that the element of choice plays in this title, accompanied with new gameplay features and more room for exploration in Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey, and players are freely able to switch between the three narrative paths that encapsulate the key themes of the Atelier series – Alchemy, Combat and Character relationships.

Along with the good stuff that comes with the new features that complement the game’s nomadic nature, it also debuts the Atelier Tent – the series’ first mobile Atelier and Mass Synthesis that both add to Firis’ abilities; such as synthesize in a campfire’s presence, and the creation of large items to overcome obstacles faced. The choice made on what is built changes the appearance and accessibility of many location, and even alters the course of the story.
