If you’ve listened to the Plug and Play podcast, you know we like to Party Hard. We’ve been playing  a LOT of this game on PC, and it even made our top 3 games of 2015 as we shared in episode 74 of the Plug and Play podcast. I’m not saying my kids asked me to play the awesome synth soundtrack in the car on a long trip(they’ve heard it coming from my gameroom for hours), but I won’t deny it either.

That’s why we are super excited that even more people will be able to Party Hard soon, because it will be releasing on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this spring! Now console gamers can fill the shoes of an ordinary guy driven to murder by loud parties at 3AM. Grabbing his mask and trusty knife, he will carve a wave of terror through multiple parties across the USA. Party Hard has semi-procedural environments and focuses on unique ways of killing people. In the greatest traditions of sneaking games, your main goal is not to get caught, while silently picking off unsuspecting victims one by one. Dancing and blending in during a suspicious situation is key. Plotting your next kill while waiting for one more person to leave the immediate area is SO fun, trust me.

Don’t be fooled — Party Hard is an extremely silly game, despite its rather dark storyline. You’ll find yourself dancing with bears in sunglasses, poisoning the punch bowl, setting mantraps for unsuspecting party goers… and then running from the cops when it all goes pear-shaped.

All you have to do is dispatch everybody at each party, but that’s easier said than done, as there are usually dozens of people swarming around. Fortunately, you don’t just have your knife — there are various traps around each level that can be used.

Bears, zombies, giant aliens shooting rainbows… This is Party Hard.

As if that wasn’t enough chaos, if you play the game on Twitch, your viewers can mess with you. They can send in SWAT teams to capture you, start sharknadoes, and generally make your game more challenging. You will also be able to unlock new characters as you play. You start out as a guy who can’t sleep, but you can also play as a ninja, a woman who can also knock people out, a cop who can blame other people, and a butcher with a chainsaw.

All of this mayhem will be coming very soon to your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One! When we asked if a Vita port was possible, Luke Burtis, Managing Partner at tinyBuild Games said,

The more people mention it, the more we think about it.

Of course, we didn’t ask if it was coming to Wii U. We might enjoy games about stabbing hundreds of party-goers, but we aren’t crazy.
