Karma: Incarnation 1 Lets Player Choose Between Good Or Evil

Earlier this month at PAX West, I had the opportunity to check out Karma: Incarnation 1. It is a psychedelic point and click adventure, with several unique features. The first thing you’ll notice about the game is the vibrant, rather bizarre hand drawn frame by frame animation.

Karma explores a love story between two beautiful souls. Pip’s lover is kidnapped by evil spirits, and he appeals to good spirits for help. They tell him he must be reborn as a dragon to rescue her, but in a cruel twist of fate, he is reborn as a worm. As the game progresses and you make choices for Pip, the worm will grow and gain new appearance and abilities. Making good, or “pure” choices will open up one path, while making evil, or selfish choices will make Pip sprout horns, and develop on a darker path. Characters Pip encounters will react differently based on which path Pip has pursued, and story line options will change as well.

I am very intrigued by the moral choice component of Karma and the story consequences and physical changes that will occur based on good and evil choices. The humorous hand drawn art is something that really caught my attention as well, and I encourage you to keep an eye on this game along with me when it releases.

Karma. Incarnation 1 will be available on Steam in October, and you can download and play the demo now.
